Terms of Service

The rules of using Shotcut.io

Effective date: June 12, 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Shotcut.io’s website or services (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old or have verifiable guardian consent.
  • You are responsible for compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

3. Accounts

  • Provide accurate information during onboarding.
  • Keep your account credentials secure; you are responsible for activities under your account.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms or misuse of the Service.

4. Intellectual Property

The Service, including content, text, graphics, logos, software and UI, is owned by Shotcut.io and its licensors and is protected by IP laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written consent.

5. Creator Monetization

Participation in royalty distributions may require acceptance of additional agreements (e.g., a non-exclusive revenue share agreement) during onboarding. You agree to submit accurate Short links and to use only licensed music provided by Shotcut.io for eligible uploads. Our service does not replace or bypass eligibility for the YouTube Partner Program (YPP); royalties, when available, complement your existing ad revenue and are governed by platform and rights-holder rules.

6. Privacy

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy.

7. Prohibited Conduct

  • Uploading unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.
  • Fraudulent behavior (e.g., manipulating views or submissions).
  • Reverse-engineering or interfering with the platform or security features.

8. Payments

Payouts (where applicable) are typically on a net‑90 basis from the close of a reporting month and are subject to receipt of platform reports, successful review, and compliance checks. You are responsible for providing accurate payout details and for any transaction fees charged by payment providers.

9. Channel Requirements

Channels must comply with applicable platform policies (e.g., YouTube). You must own/manage the channel you connect and ensure videos adhere to copyright law and music usage rules. Channels should include Shorts uploads that use licensed tracks for royalty eligibility.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee earnings, performance, or availability.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shotcut.io’s total liability for any claims relating to the Service shall not exceed the amounts paid (if any) to you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Shotcut Inc. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless otherwise mandated by law.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the website or email. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
